Fantasy novelist Jim Hines holds his very own photo shoot in which he emulates the various sassy heroine poses often found on the covers of American fantasy books.
My sense is that most of these covers are supposed to convey strong, sexy heroines, but these are not poses that suggest strength. You can’t fight from these stances. I could barely even walk.
Thank you for pointing this out, Jim!

Will someone please grab Tim Gunn for a game character-themed fashion critique? Please?
I’ve never played Dungeons & Dragons before, but this is just about the prettiest song that I’ve ever heard about escaping the rigmarole of the day through a fantasy RPG.
I’m sure you’ve seen it, but see it again! That Daniel Craig line is worth it.

Laura Bifano has created a “Menagerie” of polygonal animal illustrations, updating her blog every day with a new one. Above we see the honey badger, in its natural honey badger-ing pose, but she also features a set of deer, a peacock and many more. See them all on her blog and purchase prints of each at her etsy store.
These creatures definitely remind me of structures you uncover in Picross 3D, one of my favorite games of all time!

Igor Udushlivy turned his book collection into a nifty black and white pixel icon display. You can do it too, though you’d have to limit yourself to books of a similar size, and of course, the inconvenience of a bookshelf without explanatory binding.
Crafter Trouble T not only stitched these clever Portal 2 needlework hoops for her husband as a Father’s Day gift, but also gave him this rad looking “Binary Man”. That’s some neat gifts.
Man there’s been a lot of neat Portal fan work recently! Chalk drawings and pool parties included.
Hey guys, pocket protectors are in style again.
