No idea where this is originally from, but pretty funny stuff for an Animal Crossing comic. 
And as long as we’re here, let’s get one thing straight. Nook is a Tanuki, not a raccoon! Behold this kind of interesting wouldn’t-ya-know-it fact from the Animal Crossing Wikia page:

In traditional stories, the Tanuki was said to have had the ability to transform leaves into gold… This would also explain why furniture is depicted as a leaf while on the ground outside, or handing it to a villager or special character. It would also explain why Nook’s shop uses a leaf as a logo.

One could also surmise that Nook wears such a large apron to cover the Tanuki’s “disproportionately large testicles”, but that’s a little N.ot S.afe F.or A.nimal C.rossing.
